Featured here is a gorgeous antique Italian Venetian Murano art glass beaded necklace composed of high-end very collectible vintage 1930's - 1940's beads salvaged from old necklaces that had come apart over time and have been restrung on top quality softflex for fluid drape, strength, and durability! This necklace consists of large and heavy oval rose-pink lamp-worked wedding cake (fiorate) glass beads enhanced with applied stylized pink roses.
Blue forget-me-nots and gold aventurine trailings. These alternate with lovely round rose-pink sommerso glass beads with internal shots of pink and coppery aventurina encased in clear glass as well as pale pink smaller sommerso beads. The larger beads are enhanced by their original old vintage brass filigree bead caps, and the necklace closes with an old barrel clasp. Venetian and Murano necklaces and beads of this type can be seen in the book "Glass Beads of Europe" BY Sibylle Jargstorf. Excellent Vintage Condition with just some slight age-expected surface wear to the metal components.
Necklace measures about 20 inches in length. The largest beads are about 1 inch in length. A wonderful addition to any collection! All pictures can be super-sized for a closer look.
