Seguso Murano Art Glass Duck Sculpture Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage Seguso Vetri d'Arte art glass duck figurine. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This bird is made from cased glass.

The body appears black, with silver metallic foil inclusions and a clear glass casing; when held up to a bright light, you can see that the "black" glass is actually a deep purple color. The duck's bill and eyes also look black. The duck measures approximately 7 7/8 inches long, 3 inches wide, and 5 1/8 inches tall. Unpacked, it weighs 2 pounds 4.3 ounces. The flat base is nicely finished (factory ground and polished). This would be a fine addition to a collection of Italian art glass. Identification This vintage duck has engraved markings beneath, as shown, Seguso Murano. Per Marc Heiremans, this mark was used by Seguso Vetri d'Arte after World War II. The exact age of this piece is not known. Condition This item looks great overall, with no chips or cracks. There are some fine scratches to the flat base.
