Vintage Murano Scavo Glass Long-Neck Vase Attributable to Seguso 1970 14 in

Magnificent 1970s Murano hand-blown art glass "Berluze" (long-neck) Scavo Vase. This remarkable piece beautifully illustrates the famous Venetian.

Technique, designed to mimic the weathered, mineral texture of ancient Roman glassware unearthed during archaeological excavations. The vase features a stunning modernist and organic contrast: a bulbous, teardrop-shaped body with a rough, powdery texture in earthy ochre/brown tones, seamlessly transitioning into a long, smooth, and translucent blue-violet neck that flares slightly at the rim. Thanks to its elegant silhouette, refined craftsmanship, and characteristic two-tone thermal treatment, this high-quality piece is closely related to the production of the prestigious Seguso Vetri d'Arte (Scavo series). Signature: Classic rough pontil mark under the base, with no etched signature.

Seguso generally preferred paper labels over engraved signatures, but on this piece, the. Finish likely prevented long-term adhesion. Circa 1970 (Post-war / Mid-Century Modern).
