Unique curiosity / natural history aesthetic. Murano insect figures sit at a fascinating intersection of art glass and natural history, making them especially desirable for collectors. The Scaphinotus form is less commonly encountered than typical butterflies or fish, adding to its charm and rarity.
Curiosity cabinets & wunderkammer displays. Entomology or natural history collections. Murano / Italian glass enthusiasts. Eclectic, academic, or gothic interiors. One of the front legs (left side) shows a small loss at the tip, which is common with finely applied lampwork elements over time. Importantly, the piece still displays beautifully, and the delicate, organic nature of hand-formed glass insects means slight irregularities or minor losses often blend naturally into the form. The sculpture retains its visual balance and character when displayed. Please review photos closely for full condition details.
