Vintage Italian Murano Red & Orange Striped Purple Cased Art Glass Bowl

VINTAGE ITALIAN MURANO RED & ORANGE STRIPED PURPLE CASED ART GLASS BOWL. EXQUISITE EXAMPLE OF VINTAGE ITALIAN MURANO ART GLASS. Presenting an exceptionally attractive vintage Italian Murano art glass bowl which was expertly hand crafted by a master Venetian glass artist circa 1960s. This sleek Mid Century example has a magnificently striking colour combination, with four cased layers creating the bowl. The interior of the bowl is coloured with radiant striped of red and orange, the colours blending smoothly to create a stunning array of warm, fiery tones.

The underside of the bowl is coloured with a layer of aubergine purple, with a crisp white layer wedged between. The internal white layer magnificently accentuates the richness and depth of the two vibrant layers. All three layers are encased within a layer of sparkling clear glass, which has been expertly tooled to form two horseshoe shaped lobes to the underside.

The contrast between the radiant red and deep purple is most attractive. The organically shaped waved rim, with one overturned side, perfectly flaunts the combination of layers, with the crisp white internal layer trimming its edge to beautiful effect. This striking piece is presented in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.

There is exceptionally tiny and very shallow fleabite sized nibble to the top surface near the rim which appears as a small white spot. This may be a small inclusion within the glass which has burst the top surface of the glass during production, or it may be a small bruise where the glass has taken a knock post production, it is extremely hard to tell. There are a few exceptionally light surface scratches, noticeable only on close examination in bright raking light but mentioned for complete accuracy. There are sufficient light surface scratches to the quality, flat ground base to authenticate this is a genuinely vintage example. This impressive piece stands approx 65mms tall and measures 275mms x 210mms in diameter.
