Vintage Italian Murano Mandruzzato Sommerso Faceted Glass Vase Eames Era

VINTAGE ITALIAN MURANO MANDRUZZATO SOMMERSO FACETED GLASS VASE EAMES ERA. EXQUISITE VINTAGE ITALIAN MURANO FACETED SOMMERSO GLASS VASE. Presenting an exceptional vintage Italian Murano faceted sommerso art glass vase produced by a master Italian glass artist circa 1950s. Two exquisite sommerso layers of vibrant colour float within the sparkling lead crystal form which has been exquisitely cut to form faceted geometric faces.

A layer of rich and radiant red forms the central core surrounded by a halo of warm golden yellow, both colours encased within the thick crystal clear walls of the vessel, forming magnificent arcs of radiant colour suspended sommerso style within. Each face of the crystal has been cut to form exquisite geometric shaped faceted sides producing fabulous clean angular lines and beautifully bold, prism faces. The bold, modernist geometric faceted faces contrast spectacularly with the sleekly curved interior of the vase and the radiant arcs of colours encased within. The thick crystal walls act as a lens, creating exquisite distortions and reflections of light, and magnifying and intensifying the rich colours within. The exquisite colours radiate throughout the vessel, refracting of the faceted faces spectacularly and combining to form striking colour combinations.

This exquisite piece is an unsigned example, but it is almost certain it was handcrafted by the legendary Mandruzzato, arguably one of the most daring and innovative glass artists of the period. There is no doubting this is an exceptionally well made and beautifully finished vintage piece created by a Master Italian glass artist. This superb piece is presented in every good vintage condition with just one tiny rough spot to one corner of the top rim. This tiny flaw is absolutely minuscule and noticeable only on close examination. There are none of the usual nibbles to the facetted sides which remain lovely and crisp.

This exceptional piece has been very well cared for and presents spectacularly. This piece has been very well finished with a quality flat ground polished base. This impressive piece stands approx 160mms tall and measures 70mms in diameter.
