Vintage Barbini Murano Glass White & Gold Fleck Sommerso Ashtray Dish Bowl

VINTAGE BARBINI MURANO GLASS WHITE & GOLD FLECK SOMMERSO ASHTRAY, DISH, BOWL. For sale is an outstanding example of a vintage, mid-century art glass ashtray or bowl. The piece is likely a Murano Glass, Alfredo Barbini ashtray hand made in the in the layered, sommerso technique.

The piece is primarily white & gold with gold fleck layered into the glass. The piece has imperfections characteristic of handmade art glass. There are no chips or cracks. There is some light surface wear present from age and use. The underside of the piece has occasional light scuff marks that do not show up well in the pictures. The gold flake is hard to see with the lighting in my photo booth but in normal household lighting it is very sparkly. The piece measures approximately 7 x 5. 75" x 2.5" and weighs about 3.3 lbs.
