Vintage 1960s MCM Flavio Poli Mid-Century Italian Murano Sommerso Art Glass Ashtray Fabulous, vintage Mid Century Sommerso Murano glass Flavio Poli ashtray in yellow and amber, circa 1960. Measures 5 1/8" x 3" x 1 7/8 Mid-century Murano Sommerso rectangle-shaped ashtray by Flavio Poli for Seguso (Murano, Italy, 1960s). Made of thick amber and yellow glass. Can be used as a display piece on any table.

It reminds us of the prized possession in the film Ripley. " "Sommerso (Italian for''submerged'') is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colors that is commonly cased by a clear layer.
