Large Vintage Murano Sommerso Bird Figure Italian Art Glass Figurine Black Italy

Offered for sale is this vintage Murano sommerso art glass bird figure. It is not signed, and I don't know the maker, it is different to most Murano birds I see. This is a substantial piece of glass.

It is approximately 15.25 inches tall, and it weighs 12 pounds 9 ounces. There is a chip on the base underneath the tail - the tip of the pen is pointing to this, and I think the bird may have been reattached to the base as I can see evidence of some glue residue. There are some small scuffs and scratches on the base.
