Exceptional vintage millefiori vase, perfect condition Murano
A spectacular millefiori vase, presumably from Murano - where else would you find these masterful glass skills? - wittily emulating the form and technique of ancient roman glass. Mediterranean blue glass embedded with blue, white & yellow canes.
Standing just short of 14cm high and 9cm diameter at the hips, this is an exceptional centrepiece to any collection of 20th century glass. Handles and trails are completely intact, no cracks or flaws. Small indent resulting from blowing bubble depicted honestly in photos.
Rough pontil mark to base an evidence of its craft origin. I've placed a (very) modest start price on this lovely object to protect my expenditure, but beyond that I'm confident that it will find its own price. It's a genuinely lovely object that my partner & I were on the verge of keeping for our collection. Only the prospect of approaching Christmas expenditure persuaded us to part with it.
