Vintage MCM Virden Pair Chrome Nemo Glass Bubble Swag Lamp Helena Tynell Murano
Up for sale is this Gorgeous vintage double swag lighting fixture by Virden Lighting. It could be used as chandelier, scones or table lamps. These exquisite "bubble" lamps were crafted in Italy circa 1970 by the illustrious lighting atelier Nemo, who has collaborated with such legendary designers such as Charlotte Perriand and Le Corbusier. These fixtures have molded glass bodies with repeating orbital forms. The linear horizontal and vertical seams separating these rows of bullbs create recurring organic geologic-like structures resembling four adjoining craggy peaks. Clear bubble glass shades in the style of Helena Tynell with chrome hardware, chain, and ceiling plate. Shades measure aprox 11-1/4" tall x 5-5/8" in diameter. Varying length chains measure aprox 68" and 63" long. Swags have nice quality ceramic sockets and cloth cord wiring with grounds. Recommended 100 watt or less bulbs. Fixture is tested and in working condition is. Cosmetically it is extremely clean (possibly unused). I can find no damage to the glass shades. Metal finish is shiny showing only minor wear. Both have ceramic sockets they look unused.
